A flat flame lighter uses a specialized nozzle tip that shapes the jet stream into a flat, wide ribbon of heat rather than a round pinpoint flame. It acts like a wide paintbrush for heat, covering more surface area evenly.

Because the heat is spread horizontally across a wider plane, you can toast the entire foot of a cigar evenly without concentrating intense heat in one small spot, which prevents scorched wrappers and bitter charred flavors.

Traditional lighters use multiple torch jets (two, three, or four) to achieve a wide flame spread. A flat flame achieves the same wide coverage using a single modified burner nozzle, drawing far less butane per second.

Always use high-purity, triple-refined (or higher) butane gas to ensure smooth gas flow and prevent the flat flame nozzle tip from clogging over time.
